Unsafe driving and dangerous crossings along Clark Dr. are of particular concern for residents and visitors given the concentration of vulnerable populations in the area, particularly young children attending Queen Alexandra Elementary School, Nootka YMCA Daycare, China Creek Park North, and Cedar Cottage Park. Unsafe driving and dangerous crossings also pose a danger to cyclists using the 10th Ave. bike lane.

“I’d like to report a dangerous intersection at Clark Dr. and 11th. The crossing at 11th Ave is frequently used by children and families coming to and from the multiple parks in the direct vicinity (China Creek South, Cedar Cottage Park) and Queen Alexandra Elementary School. It is not clear whether the cars and trucks should yield to pedestrians and cars and trucks frequently speed through the area and across 12th Ave.

"I’m writing to request that Queen Alexandra Elementary School be included in Amendments to the Posted Speed Limit on Arterial and Collector Streets Adjacent to School Zones to reduce the speed limit along Clark Dr. Currently, Queen Alexandra is not included as Clark Dr. is part of the MRN, but the road along Clark Dr., between 7th Ave and 12th Ave presents significant safety concerns given the concentration of vulnerable populations in the area, particularly young children attending Queen Alexandra Elementary School, Nootka YMCA Daycare, China Creek Park North, and Cedar Cottage Park. Unsafe driving also poses a danger to cyclists using the 10th Ave. bike lane."

"I'm writing to bring to your attention frequent speeding and unsafe driving along Clark Dr., between 7th Ave and 12th Ave.
This road is adjacent to Queen Alexandra Elementary School and presents significant safety concerns for young children getting to and from school, as well as preschoolers attending Nootka YMCA Daycare and many children and families who use the parks in the area.
I would like to request a review of the speed limit along Clark Dr. as it direct impact the safety of children in the area."
